Ok...I am seriously thinking about starting my own vegetable garden in my backyard this Spring. My husband and I moved in to our first home a year ago and last Spring I was a little busy with a newborn. So now that I no longer have that excuse, I am having dreams of picking my own vegetables in my own garden for our family meals. But, I don't know the first thing about getting started. Short of a tomato plant in a pot on my apartment balcony, I am clueless! I decided to call Christy at the Garden Nerd (Gardenerd.com) to find out what she can do to possibly help me. She has workshops, a very informative website and will even come out to your house for a consultation (in the Los Angeles area, that is). But, even if you live anywhere else, she can do a Skype consultation. She even has a team that can build, install and plant the garden for you. I am considering having her come out and give me some guidance on where to put the raised garden bed and what I need to do to get myself going.
In the meantime, I am looking into a few reference materials.
These books look like they might be helpful...

I am open to any suggestions from any experienced gardeners out there. Any advise to share??
Very good article. I've found your blog via Google and I'm really glad about the information you provide in your posts. Btw your sites layout is really messed up on the Kmelon browser. Would be cool if you could fix that. Anyhow keep up the great work!
Doesn't it take up time and effort to maintain your weblog so exciting ?
Good read. I surely liked every bit of it. I have you bookmarked and will be reading more.
