Tracy Stone Architect offers complete architectural design services with an expertise in sustainable environments, an emphasis on client collaboration, and a firm grounding in modernist tradition. Tracey Stone, AIA opened her own firm, Tracy A. Stone Architect in 1991.The office has completed a variety of projects including an animal shelter, a 'green' teahouse, and numerous custom homes. Passive solar features are regularly incorporated into appropriate design solutions, with more integrated technologies employed where possible. Recent projects have incorporated such features as retention basins, green roofs, thermal chimneys, building integrated photo-voltaics, permeable paving, etc. Commercial work has included a new passive-solar 2700 square foot speculative office building, the North Central Animal Services Center (LEED Silver certification) for the City of Los Angeles, and the master plan for a 19 acre site in the middle of the town of Santa Maria, CA. This last project seeks to minimize storm-water run-off by incorporating green roofs, permeable paving and graywater cisterns
Tracy is currently a LEED Accredited Professional, and member of the US Green Building Council. Tracy teaches design at Art Center College of Design (courses include a first term studio and a class on sustainable design), and at Woodbury University in the Interior Architecture Department.
